| General Description: The Indianapolis Interfaith Hospitality Network provides temporary shelter, meals, and supportive services to single parents and married couples with children. More than thirty hosting congregations open their doors to support families in crisis. The congregations host the families on a weekly rotation. Some congregations host the families twice yearly, while other congregations host the families three to four times yearly. On average, approximately 400 volunteer hours are donated per week. Volunteers are responsible for the coordination of van drivers, assembling temporary bedrooms, laundry, food preparation, housekeeping, recreational activities, and overnight hosting. They also provide invaluable fellowship and encouragement to families.
