General Description: The Arthritis Foundation serves as a resource for individuals with
arthritis by providing educational information thorough public and
professional, health fairs, physician referrals and speaking
engagements. The Arthritis Foundation raises money through local events
such as the Jingle Bell Run and Arthritis Walk for research to find a
cure for arthritis. Our advocacy efforts encourage government leaders
to support the Arthritis Prevention Control and Cure Act for improved
healthcare, increased funding and address the need for pediatric
rheumatologists. |

Activities include: arts & crafts; leisure activities such as cards and board games; exercise; social outings (e.g., malls, theater, plays); educational learning on topics such as financial management, Social Security, health, and safe sex; computer basics; health/nutritional advice; and other recreation and cultural pursuits. |
