| General Description: Young Actors Theatre is a not-for-profit organization, the oldest independent children's theater in Indianapolis, est. 1976. Founded by Charolotte Kaufman, the mission of YAT is to instill confidence, creativity and self discipline in the children of Indianapolis who participate in its spring, summer, and fall programs. participants learn the craft of acting through classes and rehersals for a professional children's play presented to the public. YAT is sponsored by Athenaeum Turners Free University School of Performing Arts.
